Two new fights have been announced for the UFC’s upcoming return to Montreal.
For UFC 315, the promotion has added two light heavyweight bouts. One will feature a clash between Modestas Bukauskas and Ion Cutelaba, both of whom are coming off recent wins at UFC Seattle. The other bout will see Contender Series prospect Navajo Sterling take on Ivan Erslan.
UFC 315 is scheduled for May 12 at the Bell Centre, home of the Montreal Canadiens NHL team.
Bukauskas and Cutelaba quickly agreed to their next fights after both secured first-round finishes last month at the UFC Fight Night event in Seattle. Bukauskas, a former Cage Warriors champion, started the event with a knockout victory over Raffael Cerqueira, while Cutelaba earned a rare submission win against Ibo Aslan.
Sterling will be making his second appearance in the octagon. He earned a UFC contract with a knockout win last September and followed that up with a unanimous decision victory over Tuco Tokkos in his UFC debut at UFC Tampa in December. Erslan is looking to bounce back after losing his UFC debut via split decision to Cutelaba at UFC Paris last September.
The main event of UFC 315 will be Belal Muhammad versus Jack Della Maddalena for the welterweight title. The co-main event features Valentina Shevchenko defending her flyweight title against Manon Fiorot.
