The ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco, Mexico, is facing a wave of health issues as multiple players have been affected. Three participants have been forced to withdraw from the competition due to stomach problems.

Casper Ruud of Norway, Tommy Paul of the USA, and Holger Rune of Denmark have all withdrawn from the event. Ruud and Paul withdrew shortly before they were due to play their matches. Rune was forced to retire after playing only three games in his match against American player Brandon Nakashima.

Following his withdrawal, Rune stated that he was suffering from food poisoning. Ruud reported that he was experiencing a ‘stomach illness’. The ATP has also confirmed that Paul’s withdrawal was due to gastrointestinal issues.
