In a recent TGL playoff match, Atlanta Drive Golf Club secured a 9-3 victory over The Bay Golf Club. This win propels Atlanta into the finals, where they will compete against New York Golf Club.
The Bay Golf Club, who entered the playoffs as the second seed, had previously suffered their only loss of the season just before the playoffs. Atlanta Drive, the third seed, had also only lost once this season, ironically to The Bay earlier in the season.
Representing The Bay were golfers Min Woo Lee, Ludvig Åberg, and Shane Lowry, with Wyndham Clark absent. Atlanta Drive was represented by Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel, and Patrick Cantlay, while Lucas Glover was not playing.
The match highlights included a powerful 190 mph drive from Min Woo Lee, showcasing his league-leading driver distance. The event was attended by notable personalities such as Michael Vick, Chipper Jones, Rory McIlroy, Michael Penix Jr., and Kyle Pitts.
Other key moments featured Shane Lowry’s near par save from a bunker, Justin Thomas’s fortunate bounce on Hole 10, and Patrick Cantlay’s near hole-in-one on Hole 12, which ultimately sealed the win for Atlanta.
Atlanta Drive will now face New York Golf Club in a best-of-three series on March 24th and 25th for the TGL championship.
