The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has disqualified chair umpire Juan Gabriel Castro for violating the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).
Castro, a Dominican umpire officiating at the national level, was found to have committed 12 violations during three matches. He was charged with ‘manipulating match scores and facilitating corruption’, allegations which he did not dispute.
Initially provisionally suspended on November 7, 2024, Castro did not appeal the decision. His six-year ban is effective until November 6, 2030. He is also required to pay a fine of $6,000.
