World No. 11 Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas has won his first career ATP 500 tournament. He emerged victorious at the Dubai Championships in the UAE.
In the final, Tsitsipas defeated Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime with a score of 6-3, 6-3. This win extends Tsitsipas’s lead in their head-to-head record to 7-3.
Prior to this victory, Tsitsipas had reached the final of an ATP 500 tournament 11 times, suffering defeat in each instance. Notably, he had previously lost in the Dubai final twice: in 2019 to Roger Federer (4-6, 4-6) and in 2020 to Novak Djokovic (3-6, 4-6).
Tsitsipas is expected to climb to the 9th position in the updated ATP rankings following this tournament.
