World No. 11 Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece commented on his victory over Dutch player Tallon Griekspoor, ranked 47th, in the semi-finals of the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai (6/4, 6/4).
“Finally, I won’t have to go to bed at two in the morning, and I’ll be able to get some sleep. I’m very glad that I managed to avoid drama today. I showed good tennis from the beginning to the end of the match. I felt comfortable. I played great from the baseline and maintained concentration better than any other time this week.
So far, everything is going well, and I’m trying to take the best from each match. Every match is a new lesson; I can gain new experience and knowledge about my game. I try to absorb all of this and effectively use the wisdom that each match brings. There is excellent support from the spectators here. So far, I’m playing well, and hopefully, it will continue like this.”
Tsitsipas also spoke about his opponent in the final, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, ranked 21st in the world.
“Undoubtedly, Felix has been playing very well lately. Everyone in the Tour understands this. I will go out on the court, try to do my best, see what he offers, and may the strongest win,” Tsitsipas said in an on-court interview.
