US Open 2017 champion Sloane Stephens has informed her fans about a right leg injury.
In January, the American player dropped out of the WTA Top 100 for the first time since 2017. This week, she withdrew from the Indian Wells tournament, where she had received a wild card.
Stephens tweeted, along with a photo of her leg in a brace: ‘My leg is acting up again. Dealing with recurring leg issues is always tough, both physically and emotionally. However, I remain confident that things will work out for the best. Still grateful for every day. Will do everything to get back on court ASAP! Thank you for all your love and support.’
