World No. 1 Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka has shared her thoughts on the WTA’s contract with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. The partnership between the WTA and Saudi Arabia was announced in May, with Saudi funds set to be invested in the development of tennis.
Quoted by Gulf Today, Sabalenka said, “I have been on the Tour for a long time and I see their passion for our sport. Their support is very important for us and the WTA. I think we will all be very grateful for this kind of support.”
Last year, the WTA Finals took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where American player Coco Gauff earned $4.8 million for her victory.
