World No. 13 Holger Rune commented after his victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas in the fourth round of the Indian Wells Masters (6/4, 6/4).
Interviewer: Holger, fantastic match against Stefanos. What do you think is most important when facing Tsitsipas?
Holger Rune: “I believe my return of serve was very important today. I aimed to return to his backhand frequently and tried to seize control in the rallies early on. I’m also pleased with how well I maintained my focus throughout the match.”
Interviewer: Following your match with Humbert, you mentioned significant improvement in your mental game. Could you elaborate on what you meant?
Holger Rune: “Yes, against Humbert, I really battled for every point, searching for solutions and a path to victory. While my shot-making wasn’t at its peak, that doesn’t mean I should lose matches like that. You have to find a way to win, and I managed to do just that. I’m very happy about it,” Rune stated in an interview with the ‘Bolshe!’ YouTube channel.
