A Strong Coaching Duo
Ramachandran Ramesh is considered a top chess coach globally, known for training numerous successful players like Aravindh, Harikrishna, and Praggnanandhaa.
The Italian Chess Federation (Fedearazione Scacchistica Italiana) has appointed this accomplished Indian coach as the Technical Commissioner for their national team. The decision was officially made by the FSI Federal Council on March 4th.
R.B. Ramesh, aged 48, has been a Grandmaster since 2003 and won the Commonwealth Championship in 2007. He established a highly successful chess school in Chennai, his hometown, several years ago. Ramesh succeeds Loek van Wely in this significant role.

The FSI has also announced Mihail Marin as the new Technical Commissioner for the women’s national team, replacing Roberto Mogranzini.
Marin, a Romanian Grandmaster, is well-respected in the chess community for his extensive publications, including books and video courses. He is fluent in Italian, English, and German, in addition to his native Romanian. Notably, he served as Judit Polgar’s second during the 2005 World Championship tournament and later coached Daniele Vocaturo to achieve the Grandmaster title.
