22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal has voiced his opinion on equal prize money for men and women in tennis.
Nadal stated, “I’m definitely not a hypocrite. I don’t like to be one and say simplistic things. Opportunities must be equal. The unfairness lies in the lack of equal opportunities. If you ask me if I am a feminist, then yes, I am. If feminism means equal opportunities for men and women, then I’m a feminist. But, you know, this concept is often perceived too rigidly,” as quoted by Daily Express.
The 38-year-old Spanish player has announced his retirement from professional tennis after the Davis Cup in late November.
