The inaugural PFL Europe event of 2025 will be headlined by a lightweight showdown between Paul Hughes and Bruno Miranda. The fight is scheduled for May 10th in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Irishman Paul Hughes, 27, has quickly become a prominent figure in PFL. He is known for his victory over AJ McKee Jr. in his promotional debut and a close decision loss to lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov this past January.
Nicknamed “Big News,” Hughes is a former Cage Warriors featherweight champion with a professional record of 13-2. Prior to his bout with Nurmagomedov, he was on a seven-fight winning streak, including three finishes since moving up to the lightweight division.
Bruno Miranda, with a record of 17-5, is coming off a split-decision victory over former Bellator lightweight champion Patricky Pitbull in his last PFL appearance in June 2024. Before that win, he experienced back-to-back defeats. Considered a top Brazilian prospect in 2021, “Robusto” has won eight of his last ten fights, half of them by stoppage.
The Belfast event will also mark the beginning of the 2025 PFL Europe tournaments, where winners will be awarded $100,000 later in the year.
PFL CEO Pete Murray stated that the strong local support for Paul Hughes made this main event an easy decision. He expressed excitement for the atmosphere at The SSE Arena and promised a stacked card featuring PFL Europe tournament fighters and other athletes ready to deliver a spectacular show. He encouraged fans in Belfast to purchase tickets for what he believes will be a historic event.
