Nasrat Haqparast may have gained a new scar after his recent fight with Esteban Ribovics.
Any pain was surely worth it as Haqparast secured a win at UFC Vegas 103 on Saturday. In a three-round fight, Haqparast defeated Ribovics by split decision, but he also received significant swelling and a nasty cut under his left eye during the battle. Following the event, Dr. Greg Hsu, the UFC’s ringside physician, posted a graphic photo of Haqparast after the fight, showcasing his injury.
Along with the unsettling before and after images of his stitching work, Hsu also shared an inspiring story about Haqparast asking his coaches to invite his opponent and their team to a post-fight dinner to celebrate together.
“While stitching up Nasrat Haqparast, he asked his coaches to invite his opponent and as many of their team as possible to dinner,” Hsu wrote, highlighting Haqparast’s kindness.
This gesture is especially noteworthy after a fierce fight in the octagon, which earned both fighters a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus.
This victory marks Haqparast’s fifth consecutive win, his longest winning streak since joining the UFC in 2017.
