LAS VEGAS — Mauricio Ruffy is a strong contender for the 2025 Knockout of the Year award after his performance at the latest UFC pay-per-view event.
In the opening lightweight bout of UFC 313, Ruffy faced veteran King Green at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight began at a measured pace, before Ruffy unleashed a punch followed by a remarkable spinning heel kick to Green’s head. Green fell face-first to the mat just over two minutes into the fight.
This incredible knockout from the Fighting Nerds team member drew praise from fellow UFC professionals, with some suggesting Ruffy has already secured the best knockout of 2025.
Following his seventh consecutive win, including a 3-0 UFC record since earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series, Ruffy spoke to reporters backstage at UFC 313. He discussed his impressive finish, his desire to fight Beneil Dariush next, and other topics.
