French tennis player Kristina Mladenovic, winner of the 2020 Australian Open in women’s doubles, has expressed her criticism of the new logo unveiled by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
Mladenovic questioned the design on social media, writing, “Curious to know how you came up with this? And who approved it? Green and white? No tennis elements? What does it even symbolize? The previous logo was much better.”
The WTA’s new logo is more minimalist and features a bright green color. According to a press release from the organization, the new WTA brand identity, developed with input from players, fans, and partners worldwide, aims to strengthen the WTA’s position as a leader in sports and entertainment.
