Netherlands national team manager Ronald Koeman has stated that Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is not performing at the level required to represent his country.
Zirkzee has struggled to make a significant impact since his £36.5million move from Bologna to Manchester United in July.

This season, the 23-year-old has only managed to score six goals and provide two assists in 42 appearances for his club.
His performances have been met with disappointment from many Manchester United fans and football experts, and it appears Koeman shares this sentiment.
The Netherlands head coach has decided not to include Zirkzee in the squad for the upcoming international matches later this month.
Koeman insists that the striker needs to “earn” his place in the national team.
Koeman explained, “He wasn’t in the preliminary selection because I don’t think he’s good enough at the moment.”
He added, “Especially his awareness when turning or passing often falls short.”
“Yes, in principle form and fitness are always key, but sometimes other factors are considered.”
“While we have plenty of options in central defense and midfield, our attacking options are somewhat limited.”
Koeman continued, “But even considering that, I still believe that national team selection must be earned, and currently, I don’t think he deserves a call-up. However, this could change in the future.”
Zirkzee has been part of the Dutch national team in the previous three international breaks.
It is expected that Memphis Depay will be called up instead for this occasion.
The Netherlands will play against Spain in two Nations League matches this month.
Winning these two legs would secure their place in the semi-finals of the competition.
