Karen Moorhouse, Director General of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), has stated that there was no violation of tennis anti-doping program rules in the case of world number one Italian player Jannik Sinner.

Moorhouse clarified, “Communication issues related to the Sinner case may have highlighted a misunderstanding of our rules regarding announcements of positive tests and provisional suspensions. It was a mistake to assume that we announce positive tests, when in fact we announce provisional suspensions. In both scenarios, the rules were followed.”

She added, “Our rules are based on the World Anti-Doping Code, which lists several offenses that can be committed by a player’s entourage: doctor, coach, agent. However, most of the violations in question are related to the intention to use doping. In Sinner’s case, according to the legal advice we received, there was no basis to prosecute anyone from his entourage. There was no violation of the tennis anti-doping program rules.”
