Football fans are amazed by a sensational reverse scorpion kick goal scored in the Mexican women’s league, with many already considering it a lock for the 2025 Puskas Award.
Lizbeth Ovalle stunned spectators with her brilliant improvised strike, helping her team Tigres Femenil defeat Guadalajara 2-0 in a Liga MX match.

Ovalle scored the opening goal in the second half after Jenni Hermoso, known for her accomplishments with Spain, sent in a precise cross to the near post.
Despite the cross appearing to curve away from her, Ovalle, 25, displayed remarkable creativity to direct the ball towards the goal.
Extending both legs and twisting her body in mid-air, she executed a reverse scorpion kick, making perfect contact with her heel to send the ball looping over Guadalajara’s goalkeeper, Blanca Felix.
Fans and experts were astounded by the incredible goal, sharing their reactions across social media.
Many fans commented online that the Puskas Award competition should be ended immediately, declaring Ovalle the clear winner.
Others described it as potentially the most technically brilliant goal ever seen, or the greatest goal in football history.

Tigres Femenil’s official social media account playfully suggested to FIFA that they already had a nominee for the Puskas Award, jokingly correcting themselves to the “Marta Award,” referencing the new award for best goal in women’s football.
The Puskas Award traditionally celebrates the best goal in men’s football, named after the legendary Ferenc Puskas, and has been won by stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Olivier Giroud.
The Marta Award, newly established and named after Brazilian icon Marta, recognizes outstanding goals in women’s football. Marta herself won the inaugural award last year.
Ovalle is now expected to be a leading contender for the 2025 Marta Award thanks to this remarkable goal.
For now, she and her team are celebrating the important victory.
Ovalle, a seasoned player for the Mexican national team with 58 caps, also contributed to her team’s second goal just minutes later, securing the win and moving Tigres ahead of Guadalajara in the league standings.
