An international gang of thieves reportedly stole £68,000 worth of jewelry and £10,000 in cash from the residence of Premier League footballer Alexander Isak, according to court reports.
It is alleged that they traveled from Italy using a car and a motorhome to target affluent properties.
The Newcastle United and Sweden striker was reportedly the gang’s third victim last April.
They also took a safe and his Audi sports car, which was later discovered abandoned in Newcastle, the court was informed.
Isak, 25, was not at his home in Northumberland when the burglary occurred.
Three members of the same family have already admitted to conspiracy to commit burglary.
Valentino Nikolov, 32, is contesting the charge and is on trial with his former father-in-law, Safet Ramic, 58, who denies handling the safe.
Prosecutor Daniel Cordey stated that the prosecution believes they all traveled to the North East as part of an agreement to carry out high-value targeted burglaries on residential properties.
He added that a black Citroen C3 was used to travel to and from the burglaries in the North East.
The trial is ongoing.
