Respected Russian coach Viktor Yanchuk has given his assessment of the updated WTA rankings in women’s singles. His comments come after 17-year-old Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva dropped out of the Top 10, now sitting at 11th place.
Yanchuk stated, “There’s no cause for concern regarding Mirra’s exit from the Top 10. Her current level of play is absolutely consistent with the top tier, especially considering the minimal point difference from the 10th position. I anticipate she will reclaim her top ten spot soon, possibly needing just one tournament to do so.”
Andreeva remains the highest-ranked Russian player, positioned one place ahead of Daria Kasatkina, who is 12th. Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus continues to hold the world number one ranking. Iga Swiatek of Poland is ranked second, and Coco Gauff of the USA completes the top three.
