Reports from Sky News indicate that Woodward has been approached to become an independent director at Eagle Football Holdings.
This company, under the control of American businessman John Textor, is reportedly making preparations to be listed on the US stock market.
Eagle Football currently possesses a 45 percent stake in Premier League club Crystal Palace.
While there have been considerations to sell this stake, Crystal Palace’s strong performance in the Premier League might lead the company to reconsider and retain their ownership.
Additionally, Eagle Football holds a stake in the French Ligue 1 team Olympique Lyonnais.
Woodward’s history with Manchester United began in 2005 when he played a crucial role in the Glazer family’s acquisition of the club.
He later ascended to the role of executive vice-chairman in 2013, succeeding David Gill as CEO.
During his tenure, he significantly increased the financial value of Manchester United.
