Australian coach Darren Cahill shared an anecdote about a conversation with world No. 1 Jannik Sinner regarding criticism.
Cahill recounted Sinner’s words: “Don’t worry about criticism from people whose advice you wouldn’t take.” Cahill’s reaction highlighted his surprise at Sinner’s maturity, stating, “I thought, ‘Oh my god, you’re 23?'” He further added, “I know it’s a quote that gets thrown around a lot, but to hear it from him… it was like, ‘Okay, let’s just move on.'” Cahill mentioned this conversation on the Tennis Insider Club podcast.
Currently, Sinner is serving a three-month suspension due to an anti-doping rule violation in 2024. He is scheduled to return to the tour in May at the Rome Masters.
