World No. 6 Daniil Medvedev commented on his start at the Indian Wells Masters, where he is seeded fifth. In the second round match, to which Medvedev advanced automatically due to his high seeding, the Russian defeated world No. 71, Chinese player Bu Yunchaokete, with a score of 6-2, 6-2.
‘Everyone has their own opinion. Some might find the court fast, others slow. If you ask Sasha Zverev or Casper Ruud, they won’t say it’s a fast court. I think it’s super slow. Probably the slowest I’ve ever played on in my life. It’s always been like this in Indian Wells, but I manage to play well here. We’ll see what happens next,’ Medvedev said in a post-match on-court interview.
