Conchita Martinez, the Wimbledon 1994 champion and coach of Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva, has shared her thoughts on working with her young prodigy.
Martinez expressed her satisfaction with Andreeva’s progress, stating, “It’s wonderful to coach someone and witness tangible improvements as you work on specific aspects of their game. When you advise her on in-match strategies, she executes them effectively. This is incredibly rewarding and the core reason why working with her is so fulfilling. I observe her absorbing information like a sponge and diligently applying it to various facets of her game.”
Mirra Andreeva is scheduled to play against Varvara Gracheva, the world No. 70 from France, in the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells on March 9th.
