Chelsea’s Cole Palmer experienced the end of his perfect penalty record in the game against Leicester City.
The 22-year-old Palmer, who hadn’t scored for the Blues in eight games, had a golden opportunity to break this streak against Leicester in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

Just 19 minutes into the game, Chelsea was awarded a penalty when Victor Kristiansen fouled Jadon Sancho in the penalty area.
Palmer, the England player, stepped up to take the penalty, aiming to give his team the lead against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester.
Expectations were high as the winger had successfully converted all 12 of his previous penalties in various competitions.
However, Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermanen made an excellent save, ending Palmer’s impressive streak.
Chelsea has been noticeably lacking Palmer’s impact in recent games.
The forward has appeared frustrated on the field as Chelsea have struggled, losing four of their last seven matches across all competitions, winning only three.
Despite the team’s struggles, Palmer remains a key player for Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea.
This season, Palmer has scored 14 goals and provided six assists in 31 appearances for Chelsea.
Chelsea’s inconsistent performances have cast doubt on their chances of finishing in the top four of the league.
Having been knocked out of both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, their best hope for silverware this season might be the Conference League.
