World No. 3 American tennis player Coco Gauff has spoken out about her three-match losing streak.
“Everyone is making too big of a deal out of it… I’m going to have losing streaks in the future, it’s inevitable. People keep saying I’m ‘sinking.’ We’ve been through this before, and I’ll come back again.”
“I was upset that I lost, but it’s just a loss, it happens. Hopefully, it won’t happen too often in my career. But you move on and get better from it. You know the results will come. I’m only 20, turning 21 next week. It would be silly of me to think I’ll never lose again, especially since I hope to be on tour for at least another 10 years,” Gauff said at a press conference before the start of the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells.
