World No. 3 and four-time Grand Slam champion, Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, shared his thoughts on the inevitable evolution of tennis and the conclusion of the dominant era of the legendary trio – Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic.
“The times of John McEnroe and other past stars are fundamentally different from the era of Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic. Our era will also have its own distinct characteristics.”
“Tennis is constantly changing: tournament formats, ball specifications – everything is subject to change. We must adapt and move forward in line with the development of the sport.”
“Nadal, Federer, and Djokovic set an incredibly high bar, but tennis is not stagnant, and we have no intention of stagnating either,” Alcaraz stated in an interview with TNT Sports.
