Bryce Mitchell may be in need of some restful sleep.
The seasoned featherweight fighter, set to compete at UFC 314 in April, recently shared on social media that he’s been plagued by demonic dreams. This comes after his controversial remarks defending Adolf Hitler and denying the Holocaust earlier this year.
The reason for these disturbing dreams? Mitchell believes his upcoming opponent, Jean Silva, is intentionally sending demons to torment him as a psychological tactic before their fight in Miami.
“Every night since the press conference, I’ve been having demonic dreams,” Mitchell stated on Instagram. “Legions of demons attack me every time I sleep, and I haven’t had a peaceful night since. These demons surround me, trying to provoke my anger. Then the dream shifts, and they send beautiful women to tempt me with lust and infidelity. Satan is exploiting my weaknesses, anger and lust, to reveal the evil within my own heart.”
Mitchell attributes his sleep problems to Silva, as they began around the time of their pre-fight press conference. He elaborated, “I’m not just fighting a man on April 12th. I’m fighting a man possessed by demons. When I mentioned the name Jesus, he reacted aggressively, barking like a dog and repeatedly yelling profanities.”
Silva responded to Mitchell’s claims on Twitter, offering a different perspective on the fighter’s nighttime disturbances. “Bryce, these aren’t demons, you’re just afraid to face me,” Silva wrote. “And about the women, it’s called testosterone, maybe you have issues with it. Just be ready for April 12th, because I will be.”
Sean Strickland also chimed in with advice for Mitchell regarding his dreams, saying, “Dawg, it’s a dream. Just go for it with the woman. It’s not real.”
Beyond these unusual pre-fight issues, Mitchell is scheduled to face Silva in a compelling featherweight match at UFC 314. Mitchell aims to secure his second consecutive win after defeating Kron Gracie in his last fight. Silva has been impressive in his UFC career, with four knockout victories in a row.
