Brian Ortega, the prominent UFC fighter, recently made a significant change to his appearance by cutting off a substantial amount of his hair.
The two-time contender for the UFC featherweight title shared a video on Instagram this Monday, documenting the moment he cut off his ponytail. This act was motivated by his decision to donate his hair to Wigs For Kids. This charitable organization is dedicated to providing wigs for children who have lost their hair due to medical treatments like chemotherapy and radiation.

Ortega expressed his sentiments online, stating, “I cut it all off. Wigs For Kids, thank you for what you do. This hair embodies a strong fighting spirit. I am eager to see which child will receive this and be empowered to continue fighting through their challenges.”
This is not the first time Ortega has donated his hair for this cause. He previously cut and donated his hair before his UFC Fight Island 6 main event against The Korean Zombie in October 2020, also for Wigs For Kids. In that match, Ortega achieved victory by unanimous decision, delivering what many consider his best striking performance in the UFC.
In 2024, Ortega has competed twice. He secured a submission victory against Yair Rodriguez at UFC Mexico City and experienced a decision loss to Diego Lopes, a rising featherweight contender, at UFC 306 this past September.
