Joe Highsmith, after avoiding his fourth missed cut in six starts, achieved his first PGA Tour victory last week at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches with two consecutive rounds of 64. Highsmith is the first player since Brandt Snedeker in 2016 to win an event after making the cut right on the number. This win secures the 24-year-old Highsmith’s participation in all remaining signature events this season, starting with the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard this week. He has also earned spots in the Masters, the PGA Championship, and the 2026 Sentry.

Highsmith will compete at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, Florida, for the Palmer Invitational, joining many prominent golfers, including the defending champion and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler, the three-time reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year and 2024 FedEx Cup champion, won last year’s event at Bay Hill with a score of 15-under 273, finishing five strokes ahead of Wyndham Clark. This was the largest margin of victory at the event since Tiger Woods won by five shots in 2012.

Scheffler, Clark, Highsmith, Rory McIlroy, and others will be competing for a share of the $20 million prize pool at Bay Hill, with the winner receiving $4 million.
